Santa Cruz, Colchagua Valley, Chile – This 19th March the Harvesting at Colchagua Valley will be celebrated with an amazing party at Vina Santa Cruz.
A party will be held at the big Ruca Mapuche of Cerro Chaman with a cocktail, live music, lamb barbeque, wine tasting and stars observation at the vineyard’s observatory. This is what Vina Santa Cruz is offering to their guests who would like to live this celebration of the end of the harvesting year.
The Hotel Santa Cruz has prepared different options for this day, as well as for the months of March and April, when Colchagua Valley will receive its visitors with their grapevines mature and ready to be pruned.
The harvesting is the party that marks the end of the crop. This 19th of March is the Harvesting Party (Fiesta de la Vendimia) at Vina Santa Cruz – within Colchagua Valley – when the purest traditions of Chile will be celebrated. This day the winery open its door to allow guests to actively participate and get to know how the workers of the land create the best wines of the house.
At sunset, the party starts. At Vina Santa Cruz, after the initial visit, guests can take the gondola in a panoramic ride to the top of Cerro Chaman, and go to the Ruca Mapuche, where there will be a party with live music, cocktail, lamb barbeque and the best wines of the area. Guests will be also invited to go to the Astronomic Observatory to learn about the stars of the area.
After a fantastic night, guests will go to Hotel Santa Cruz, to have a great night sleep, a fantastic buffet breakfast and access to the Inka Spa, with its temperate pools to help them regain their energy.
For this Harvesting party on Saturday 19th March, Hotel Santa Cruz is offering programmes of one and two nights, that include lodging, tour of the Vina Santa Cruz, visit of the winery, Harvest yard and Wine Variety Garden, tasting and transfer in gondola to Cerro Chaman, where the big Harvesting Party will be held with live music and cocktail. The programme also includes a hands-on-visit of the astronomic observatory at Cerro Chaman, entrance to the Colchagua Casino and access to the Inka Spa. This programme costs USD 190 per person based double occupancy, and USD 286 single occupancy with a wine pack in the room.
As the harvesting season lasts more than one day, Hotel Santa Cruz offers different alternatives for guests that want to participate of this tradition during the months of March and April. There is an option of three days and two nights for USD 269 per person double occupancy or USD 461 single occupancy that includes two nights lodging, special tour of the harvesting at Vina Santa Cruz visiting the wineries, tasting, transfer to Cerro Chaman to visit the indigenous villages, entrance to Casino de Colchagua, access to the Inka Spa and a wine pack gift on the room.
Also during 2011, families can take up to two children under 10 years old for free, staying at same room as their parents.
